Our Organization

Chester Arts Alive! will be the largest arts and cultural organization in the City of Chester, creating opportunities for personal growth, enrichment and exploration that are currently needed.  Chester and Delaware Valley residents of all ages will have opportunities to explore personal interests and potential life-long careers in music, dance, theater, art, literature, photography, graphic design and more.  The cultural center will provide a showcase of artists and performers that will attract visitors from throughout the region.  A wonderful opportunity for community growth and economic development can be brought to fruition through the Chester Arts Alive! cultural center.

Who We Are

Chester Arts Alive! was born of a partnership between the Chester Housing Authority, regional investors, and local artists and art organizations.  The Chester Housing Authority has been awarded a HOPE VI Revitalization grant in which a Chester Arts and Cultural Center is to be built.  An advisory council was organized to coordinate program development and to garner support for the arts activities among Chester residents in the pre-contruction phase.

In 2004, the advisory council became Chester Arts Alive!, a non-profit organization.  Chester Arts Alive! is an arts and education proto-type, utilizing the expertise of regional arts and cultural institutions and incorporating "best practice" concepts to ensure that services meet the unique needs of the Chester residents.
